No stranger to being featured in The Independent’s Tie the Knot Issue, Quintessential Events’ founder, Sarah, was over the moon excited when Paul Horsley called to discuss same sex weddings for the society magazine. The title of the article says it all… Love is Love.

Same sex marriages have been on the rise since the landmark decision by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2014. According to the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, married same-sex households has increased by almost 70%, rising to 568,110 couples in 2019. How amazing is that?

Quintessential Events has been incredibly lucky to get to work with numerous gay couples and bring their wedding dreams to life. The most recent being Danny and Reed, who were featured alongside Quintessential Events in this article. This couple, their wedding and their families were what planners dream for. Not only were they in sync with each other, they trusted us and their vendor team to bring several of their out-of-the-box ideas to life. From a circle ceremony layout to having the band perform on split stages, their day was one people will be discussing for life.

From the article:

And Sarah, whose firm specializes in weddings that are bit outside of the ordinary, is eager and willing to help out.

“My company focuses on telling people’s stories,” she said. “We don’t necessarily do cookie-cutter weddings. We do more one-of-a-kind … weddings. That’s likely why we have gotten so many gay weddings, because we’re not scared of the challenge.”

A wedding is, after all, “one of the only days in your life that you can truly do what you want to do,” she said. “The people you love the most are there just to celebrate being in the presence of two people starting, or continuing, their lives together.”
