Quintessential Events has been a longtime supporter of Unexpected Blooms. Founder, Sarah Quinlivan, shares with The Kansas City Star what motivates them to suggest such donations of flowers.

One of Quintessential Events’ favorite charities, Unexpected Blooms, was recently featured for its work in The Kansas City Star. Unexpected Blooms takes flowers from weddings and events, and recreates them into bouquets and arrangements for area hospitals, nursing homes and hospice centers.

Quintessential Events has been a longtime supporter of this organization, and works with couples every year on donating their wedding floral. Our founder, Sarah, was asked to discuss what motivates us to suggest such donations.

From the article, “For years now our couples have asked, and we have encouraged, donating their flowers at the end of the night,” said Quinlivan, owner and lead planner at Quintessential Events. It is a wonderful way to extend the beauty of a wedding day to other people, especially those in hospitals, hospice or nursing home facilities who could use a little extra joy at that moment.

Everyone loves fresh flowers. Once a wedding or event is over, those flowers, sadly, generally end up being disposed of. What Unexpected Blooms has allowed us to do is take those gorgeous flowers and give them additional life. Our couples love knowing their flowers are continuing to make people’s days.”

Please consider giving to this wonderful organization.
